Montana native Edie Vogel draws deep inspiration from the breathtaking beauty of her home state—its diverse landscapes, abundant wildlife, and the quiet wonder of nature just outside her door.

Her love for the outdoors led her to create stories that reflect the richness of Montana’s wilderness and the life lessons it offers.

In Blake the Bear, Edie brings to life a cast of endearing characters—each one loosely inspired by people, stories, and experiences from her own journey. Every book in her series follows a central character navigating a personal challenge, echoing the everyday struggles we all face. Through resilience, discovery, and heart, her characters learn, grow, and ultimately find their way.

“Montana is such a beautiful and diverse place,” Edie shares. “It’s easy to fall in love with its animals and landscapes—and that love naturally poured into my storytelling.”
